Coin Company Awards Five For High Quality

LITTLETON –  Littleton Coin Company honored its staff members for quality, service and ingenuity at its annual awards breakfast held at the Elks Lodge. The 2005 Employee of the Year and Distinguished Achievement award recipients were announced to the company’s 300+ employees. Kendra Blodgett of the Analyzing department was named Quality Employee of the Year. Jessica Therrien, of Coin Processing, received the Distinguished Achievement quality award.

Littleton Coin Company began the Quality Awards program eight years ago. Chief Operating Officer Mike Morelli stated, “Selecting the award recipients from so many highly qualified people is always difficult. However, both Kendra and Jessica have done outstanding jobs in their pursuit of quality.” Blodgett received the award for her eagerness, initiative, and employee training improvements that have assisted the entire department. Therrien was honored for achieving an unsurpassed level of technical achievements in a single year. Both received a certificate and monetary award.

Doug Frizzell of Customer Service was also recognized, with the Outstanding Employee Suggestion of the Year award. Doug recommended a process to streamline the way customer questions are fielded while on the phone, significantly reducing hold time.

Announced by Personnel Director Milt Bratz was the Special Contribution Award. This new program honors employees who have made a special contribution to better the company in some way. The first two recipients of this award were Jill Kimball and Stephanie Westover, both of the Marketing department. Kimball organized weekly yoga classes for employees, which contribute to their health and well-being. And for the past two years, Westover has chaired a committee that she organized to create Littleton Coin Company’s float in the town’s annual Christmas parade.

In all, 52 employees were honored for a total of 550 years of combined service with Littleton Coin. Those presented with awards received a handsome timepiece and a gift certificate to their choice of local merchants. Each year, employees are recognized for varying lengths of service within the company.
